WHY THE SUPER ARKTIK® YEAR-ROUND MOBILE HOME IS TRULY SUITABLE FOR YEAR-ROUND LIVING

Are you considering buying a year-round mobile home? Not every mobile home is suitable for Czech and Slovak winters. Many imported mobile homes from the United Kingdom or the Netherlands were designed for milder climates and seasonal use.

The SUPER ARKTIK® year-round mobile home was specifically developed for the climatic conditions of the Czech Republic and Slovakia — meaning hot summers, cold winters, and significant temperature fluctuations throughout the year.

The Difference Between the Climate in the UK and Central Europe

When evaluating whether a mobile home is suitable for year-round living, the climate of the country it was designed for is a key factor.

United Kingdom and the Netherlands

  • mild oceanic climate
  • mild winters
  • higher average winter temperatures

  • Average January temperatures:

    • average minimum temperature: 3.4 °C
    • average maximum temperature: 8.1 °C

    Czech Republic and Slovakia

    • continental climate
    • hot summers
    • cold winters and frost

  • Average January temperatures:

    • average minimum temperature: -3.3 °C
    • average maximum temperature: 2.6 °C

  • The comparison clearly shows that Czech and Slovak climatic conditions are significantly more demanding. As a result, the insulation in imported mobile homes is often insufficient for comfortable year-round living.

Why the SUPER ARKTIK® Year-Round Mobile Home Was Created

Years of experience selling imported mobile homes revealed that many models were not designed for Central European winters.

That is exactly why the SUPER ARKTIK® project was created. Years of development, testing, and engineering led to the creation of a mobile home suitable for Czech and Slovak climatic conditions.

    The result is:

    • high thermal insulation,
    • low energy costs,
    • comfortable living throughout the entire year,
    • stable indoor climate in both winter and summer.

What Makes SUPER ARKTIK® Different from Standard Mobile Homes?

    ORIGINAL MODEL

    • 5-chamber windows
    • double glazing
    • insulation with grey carbon polystyrene
    • average heat transfer coefficient of the mobile home envelope: 0.34 W/(m².K)

    FAMILY MODEL

    • 7-chamber windows
    • triple glazing
    • mineral wool insulation
    • average heat transfer coefficient of the mobile home envelope: 0.22 W/(m².K)

What Does the Heat Transfer Coefficient Mean?

The heat transfer coefficient expresses how many watts of heat pass through 1 m² of a structure when there is a temperature difference of 1 °C between the interior and exterior.

The lower the value, the better the thermal insulation and the less heat escapes outside.

    Practical Example of Thermal Insulation

If the difference between indoor and outdoor temperature is 20 °C, then:

    ORIGINAL MODEL

With a value of 0.34 W/(m².K), approximately the following amount of heat escapes through 1 m² of structure:

    0.34 × 20 = 6.8 W

This means lower heat loss, lower heating costs, and greater comfort during winter.

    FAMILY MODEL

With a value of 0.22 W/(m².K), approximately the following amount of heat escapes through 1 m² of structure:

    0.22 × 20 = 4.4 W

Thanks to even better insulation, the FAMILY model achieves even lower heat loss and higher energy savings.

Comparison with Other Types of Homes

    Older Standard Houses

    • approximately 0.6 – 1.0 W/(m².K)

    Modern Low-Energy Houses

    • approximately 0.2 – 0.4 W/(m².K)

    Passive Houses

    • approximately 0.10 – 0.15 W/(m².K)

The values achieved by SUPER ARKTIK® mobile homes are therefore close to modern low-energy buildings.

What Are the Advantages of the SUPER ARKTIK® Year-Round Mobile Home?

    • suitable for year-round living,
    • low heating costs,
    • high thermal insulation,
    • comfort during both winter and summer,
    • modern technical solutions,
    • fast implementation,
    • suitable for both living and recreation,
    • stable indoor climate throughout the year.

SUPER ARKTIK® and the European Standard STN EN 1647+A1

Mobile homes are manufactured according to the European standard STN EN 1647+A1.

Section 5.6 of this standard states that the average heat transfer coefficient of structural elements, including windows, doors, and roof openings, must not exceed:

    1.2 W/(m².K)

SUPER ARKTIK® mobile homes achieve significantly better values:

    • ORIGINAL MODEL: 0.34 W/(m².K)
    • FAMILY MODEL: 0.22 W/(m².K)

This represents a significantly higher thermal insulation standard compared to standard mobile homes.
